The natural world (I am generally fascinated by plants, animals, science, and how to improve stewardship of this planet we inhabit).
How do you Live Engaged?
I live engaged through my passion of rock climbing. I enjoy the personal, physical challenge but even more so, I enjoy engaging with the local rock-climbing community. Not only do I get to spend time with my belay partner who is also one of my best friends, but I have also been able to make new friends through club activities, classes, and competitions. Rock climbing is special to me because of the way that climbers support and encourage one another. Climbing allows me to positively engage with others and to clear my mind of daily stressors.
How/where do you volunteer?
I donate blood with the Red Cross, occasionally volunteer with the Personal Essentials Pantry, and have helped with lawn care for the senior center.

Favorite tv show: The Office or Community
Favorite food: Grandma’s home-made baked macaroni and cheese (served with peas!)
Favorite place you’ve traveled: When I think back to my favorite trips, I think of the people that made that place special. A trip to Slovakia was one of my favorite trips because we were able to travel with local friends and visit friends living abroad. Our Slovak friends shared with us their favorite foods, special places, and introduced us to their family. Sharing the excitement of travel with friends is one of my favorite past times.
