A large vessel represents a significant asset that is subject to the risk of corrosion. One source of corrosion relates to the dissimilar metals connected when a boat is tied to shore power. The boat is constructed of one (or several) metals that differ from the shore grounding material, which drives a "corrosion cell" that can damage expensive components on the boat. DEI offers a specialized decoupler, the Galvanic Isolator, to combat corrosion when a boat is tied to shore power.
