Hazardous Locations

Many user sites are formally classified as hazardous locations, according to various standards. Other sites may commonly have explosive vapors or gases present, but haven't been identified as a "hazardous location" due to unfamiliarity with the classification requirements.

If your site is classified or otherwise treated as a hazardous location, then a product appropriate for this environment should be used, such as the following DEI models.

Class I, Division 1: DEI model PCRH, OVP
Class I, Division 2: DEI model PCR, SSD, OVP2

The above models have been tested by Underwriter's Laboratories (UL) and carry the UL and C-UL (Canada) mark for full compliance to hazardous location requirements. Additionally, the following products have been tested by Demko to the ATEX directive:

Zone 2: DEI model PCR, SSD, OVP, OVP2

All DEI products are suitable for "ordinary" locations.
